When We Fly
We fly up to two times a day – once shortly after sunrise and again around three hours before sunset. These are the optimal times for hot air balloon rides in Norfolk, when the air is calmest and the landscapes below are bathed in golden light.
Because hot air ballooning is highly weather-dependent, we can’t fly in breezy, foggy or rainy conditions. But don’t worry – if your Norfolk or Suffolk balloon flight is cancelled due to weather, you can simply rebook for another date. Safety is our top priority and is at the heart of every part of the experience – from check-in through to landing.

The Day of Your Flight
Upon arrival at our designated hot air balloon launch site in Norfolk or Suffolk, you’ll be welcomed by your pilot. You’ll watch – and can help with – the balloon setup, from inflating the envelope with cold air fans to seeing it rise with heat from the burners.
The inflation process is fast and exciting. Once upright, the pilot invites you aboard… and then you’re up, up and away! Your balloon flight adventure begins.

Where Will We Go?
Flights last around one hour, with the full experience taking roughly 3–4 hours.
We drift with the wind – there’s no steering! Our pilots assess the weather and wind direction in advance, but the exact route of your Norfolk balloon ride is always a surprise. You might travel just a couple of miles, or soar over 20. Either way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views and make memories to last a lifetime.
At the end of your hot air balloon ride, we land in a suitable field, pack down the balloon together as a team, and toast the experience with a traditional glass of Champagne.
